Violins of Hope Concert Northbook Symphony

Sunday, June 4, 2023 15 Sivan 5783

4:00 PM - 6:00 PMView the Instruments at 3 PM

We have a block of 23 tickets to this meaningful concert, a generous donation from temple member Larry Stark. Help us make this fundraiser complete by joining your fellow temple members to view and hear these historic instruments, in a program presented by the Northbrook Symphony.

The program includes Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G minor and the Orchestra performing Dvorak’s Symphony #9 “From the New World” – symbolic of finding a new homeland in America.

A few of these instruments, along with their associated stories, will be on display for viewing in the lobby.

The concert is being held at:

Sheely Center for the Performing Arts
2300 Shermer Road
Northbrook, Illinois 60062

Go to the Northbrook Symphony web page for more information.

These violins are the subject of Cantor Figa's column on page 3 of the May Har Zion Herald, which has some information on their collection and renewal by violin maker Ammon Weinstein.
