High Holy Days 5783: Camp Shana Tovah Programs for Children and Youth to 7th Grade

Welcome to the High Holy Days at Temple Har Zion

For the younger set, Temple Har Zion offers a range of youth services, services for families with young children, and also, back this year, childcare. The services will be held again in an outdoor tent.

All programs for children—Camp Shana Tovah and professional childcare—require prior registration and a responsible adult must be present at the temple at all times.

Interfaith families are welcome!

Back this Year: Childcare

Childcare for children to age 10 during the High Holy Day services is back this year, provided by teachers from the Temple Har Zion preschool. Prior reservation is required. If there is a lot of interest in this program, we may require that the persons accompanying the children under our care will need to spend a certain amount of time in the childcare rooms.

For more information and to sign up, see Childcare (leaves this page).

Every child in our care must have an adult who is responsible for them in the temple building at all times.

Camp Shana Tovah

All Temple Har Zion programming for children is in person only, being held outdoors, and will not be streamed.

Prior registration is required for childcare and for all Camp Shana Tovah activities.

Camp Shana Tovah is being held outdoors in our High Holy Days Activity Tent again this year. There are two sets of programming, for children aged 1-PreK (accompanied by an adult), and for school aged children grades K-7.

You must sign your children up for them to be able to attend these services. For your convenience, there is one signup page for all Camp Shana Tovah programs; click here.

A shorter, age-appropriate, service for our younger children, aged 1-PreK.

About an hour long, these services will be held beginning at 9:30 AM on the first day of Rosh Hashanah (but not the second) and on Yom Kippur morning.

A responsible adult must be with your children during these services.
A responsible adult must remain at the temple while your children (up to age 10) in our childcare.

If you wish further care for your child after these short services, childcare is available for children up to age 10. Click here (leaves this page) for more information or to sign up.

Youth Services for school-aged children to 7th grade, followed by board games.

The youth services start in the tent at 10:45 PM. Your child can stay in the tent under the supervision of older religious school students following the service, until 12:15 PM.

A responsible adult must remain at the temple while your school-aged children are at services or in supervision afterwards.
