Dear Friends,
After the past two week of worrying conflict in Israel that has rattled all of us, we have a unique opportunity on Sunday, May 30th at 11 am to hear Yossi Klein Halevi, one of the leading international journalists and political commentators analyzing
the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the relationship between Israel and the American Jewish communities.
Mr. Halevi is widely published in the world’s leading newspapers. He had a prominent op-ed in the New York Timeslast week about the internal strife between Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs during the violence in Israel and Gaza.
He is the author of the 2013 Jewish Book of the Year Award Winner, ‘Like Dreamers’, and the New York Times Bestseller, ‘Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor’.
He is also a personal friend and visited us here at Har Zion for a scholar in residence Shabbat 2 ½ years ago (on the weekend of the Pittsburgh attacks).
His planned lecture, ‘The Legacy of the Six Day War’ could not be more topical.
Mr. Halevi is always insightful and gets to the heart of the matter with a compassionate lens to both sides.
We are very grateful to Henry and Sally Guralnick for their generous sponsorship of this event.
Even though it is on Memorial Day Sunday, I urge you to make the time to attend with your family and invite your friends.
It should be a fascinating and thought-provoking morning.

Sincerely,
